deian toptchiev, bassoon
deian obtained the masters degree for bassoon at the vladigerov conservatory in sofia with marin valchanov and studied chamber music and orchestral playing at the blankenburg conservatory. as a bassoonplayer he was part of the bulgarian national radio symphony orchestra until he was admitted at the brussels conservatory in the class of luc loubry. there he obtained the master diploma for bassoon in 2002 and two years later for chamber music. as a soloist he performed with the kölner kammer orchester in germany, england, italy, spain and australia. since 1999 he is playing with most of the belgian orchestras and ensembles, such as the national belgian orchestra, la monnaie, the royal flemish philharmonic, the spectra ensemble, the brussels philharmonic, il novecento and is touring every year with the orchestra of the night of the proms.
