raf de keninck, clarinet
raf studied at the royal flemish conservatory of music in antwerp and obtained the diploma's for clarinet, bass clarinet and chambermusic cum laude, as well as the master in music diploma with distinction. also he received the hafabra conducting diploma. for his outstanding promotion for contemporary chamber music, he was awarded the bam-sabam prize (1997) and the willem pelemans prize. raf was a laureate of the national dexia competition (1992), the international chamber music competition 'orpheus prize' (1997), the dutch national chamber music competition in almere (2005) and became a semi-finalist of the international chamber music competition 'gaetano donizetti' in verona, italy. as a (bass)clarinet player, he performed on numerous chamber music concerts which have been broadcasted by belgian classical radio klara and dutch classical radio 4. withe the trio energico he performed at the royal concertgebouw in amsterdam. raf is artistic leader and clarinet player of the emanon ensemble and founder of the iNtertidal ensemble.
