Anna Popil, violin
Anna was born in 1998 in Lviv (Ukraine) in a family of professional musicians. at the age of 5 she was accepted in a specialized music school and started studying the piano with lidia kruch. when she was 10 she started with the violin and finalized successfully in 2015 in the class ofnumerous international competitions maria futorska-hereha and in the same year she got accepted with excellent marks for the lviv academy of music (ukraine). she studied with igor pylatiuk for four years and obtained her bachelor degree. during her training anna took part in numerous international competitions, masterclasses, festivals and performed as a soloist, in chamber music formations and in orchestras in the ukraine, poland, italy and slovakia.
since september 2019 anna studied at the royal conservatory of antwerp with tatiana samouil. during her studies in antwerp she performed as a soloist (she won an audition to perform arvo pärt's "fratres" with a student orchestra in antwerp), in chamber music groups (with razvan popovici, justus grimm, diana ketler, benjamin braude, paul de clerck, mark dobrinsky and igor kirichenko) and in orchestras (young belgian strings, virago symphonic orchestra, arte amanti chamber orchestra and frascati symphonic).
anna also took part in masterclasses with michaela martin, giovanni barbato and performed during festivals such as "rencontres musicales de léotoing" (summer 2021) and the ravel festival in saint-jean-de-luz (summer 2021).
as from september 2021 she continues sudying the violin with tatiana samouil at the conservatoire royal de bruxelles.
anna won prizes in the ukraine (chamber music competition in lviv, 2012), international festival-competition of performing arts "khortytsia chords" (zaporizhia, 2015), second international competition-festival of the arts "stankovych fest" (zakarpattia, 2018), in pooland ("Z etiudą za pan brat" competition, lublin, 2008 and slowakia (international competition bohdan warchal "talents for europe", 2010)
